Abhainn Dearg X 10 year old Single Malt

It has been a long journey but now from Abhainn Dearg's craft distillery in the Outer Hebrides, they are proud to offer their first ten year old single malt.

As a small privately owned and run distillery they will never have thousands of bottles available at any one time and it is doubtful that you will see them on a supermarket shelf in the foreseeable future.

Everything they do in creating their unique single malt is labour intensive.

• They sow and grow their own barley at Goathill Farm, Melbost, near Stornoway.
• Harvest it using their own elderly combine harvester.
• Malting by peat fire at the distillery, turning the grain by hand.
• They even have their own peat banks.
• They use their specially designed stills, based on old illicit island stills.
• They even hand filter and fill every bottle by hand.

Abhainn Dearg are passionate about their whisky and their distillery and hope you enjoy savouring it as much as they have enjoyed creating it.
